Accidents to Employee
Liability claims are, in general, the longest running and most complicated claims that a business or voluntary organisation will experience. Your public or employer's liability policy protects you against any allegations of negligence leading to injury or loss made by a third party
What to do:
Record the incident in your accident logbook. Note the statements of any witnesses to the accident. Notify your broker, O'Driscoll O'Neil as soon as the incident occurs. If an incident occurs, and even if you don't feel it will lead to a claim, please notify us so that we can take the appropriate action. If a claim does occur remember that you need to co-operate fully with insurers in order to adhere to the terms of your policy and forward any correspondence received from a solicitor to O'Driscoll O'Neil straight away. Keep an accident report book and log any incidents that occur in it. If you have CCTV footage of an incident retain it where possible. A bad claim or series of claims can dramatically affect your premium at renewal and it is in your best interest to help insurers in their efforts on your behalf.
What documents are needed:
Completed incident report form, which can be provided by ODON. Any solicitor's correspondence received. Any written or visual records of the incident.
Please call us on (01) 6395800 between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Please have your policy number at hand with details of the claim.
